Jannik Sinner claimed the biggest financial reward in his long-running rivalry with Carlos Alcaraz.
The reigning Wimbledon champion left the Spaniard searching for further self-improvement with a stunning display in Saudi Arabia.
The so-called Six Kings Slam in Riyadh saw the masterful Italian break immediately and maintain control to run out an emphatic 6-2, 6-4 winner.
Relatively quick work for a cool $4.5 million in addition to the $1.5 participation fee. And these superstars can command such giddy figures because they are now by far the greatest players in the world.
But here’s the thing. Neither player is entirely satisfied with the standard they have reached already. Both want to get even better!

Alcaraz explained after this defeat: ‘I always say when he plays such great tennis it gives me motivation to go to the practice court, give one hundred per cent and try to be better.
‘Sometimes he is annoying. But he gives me extra motivation.’
But Jannik pointed out: ‘This season we payed many, many times and I also lost many, many times to Carlos. It is a huge pleasure and honour to share the court with him.
‘At the same time you want to get better as a player. And you need rivalries in the sport.’
They shared the Slams this year. Sinner won Australia and Wimbledon. Alcaraz took Roland Garros and Flushing Meadows.
Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz could take their rivalry to a whole new superhuman level at Wimbledon 2026.
