Arthur Fery Faces Sascha Zverev after Causing Musetti Upset
Locker Room
October 30, 2026
Arthur Fery will recreate his Wimbledon semi-final match-up with new world number one Alexander Zverev today.
The Vienna quarter-final evokes memories of the summer when incredible Fery reached the last four at the All England Club.
After a hard-fought first set, Arthur was outgunned in the breaker and lost to the German in straight sets that day.
Today’s showdown will be another very difficult challenge for the Brit in his breakthrough year. But he will come into the clash full of confidence after downing Lyon champion Lorenzo Musetti.
Arthur Fery is now finding the kind of form that suggests he can go on another deep and dramatic run at Wimbledon 2027!
Already his 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 win over Musetti has got the tennis world talking. Lorenzo was 4-2 up in the decider. Victory for the favourite looked a foregone conclusion.
After all, it was Musetti who triumphed when they met early at the US Open. The Italian soon put Fery back in his Grand Slam place after all that Wimbledon fame.
But irrepressible Fery is already a master at tearing up scripts and defying expectations. He roared back with a typical display of stubborn defence, stunning movement and audacious stroke play.
One lob after drawing Musetti forward was so nonchalant that it looked as though Fery was the man with the consistent big-time background instead of his adversary.
And the Wimbledon hero has the added satisfaction of knowing that he has outlasted the great Novak Djokovic in their respective tournaments this week.
Evergreen Novak was just one point from serving for the match against Jan-Lennard Struff at the Swiss Indoors. But the German underdog beat the legendary Serb 6-7 (4-7), 7-5, 7-6 (7-5).
Arthur Fery already knows this has been a year beyond his wildest dreams. What can he conjure at Wimbledon 2027? We can’t wait to find out.
