It’s the dream final in so many ways because it has both drama and historical import.
Of course it’s sad that valiant Cameron Norrie didn’t make the showpiece in front of the British spectators.
But he can be so proud of his run and contribution to an incredible Wimbledon 2022.
He even took the first set off the master before Djokovic eventually bossed it 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 6-4 in a pulsating semi-final.
But the two remaining gladiators in the ultimate event on Sunday make it perfect box office.

The motivation for Djokovic is immense.
The Wimbledon 2022 final is the perfect opportunity for Novak to stay in touch with Rafael Nadal in the race to become the greatest player of all time.
Of course, for many people that honour will always go to the supremely elegant Roger Federer.
And it was so wonderful to see Federer make a surprise appearance on Centre Court last Sunday, something we hinted would happen.
But the statistics leave Roger back on twenty Slams along with Djokovic.
Nadal is clear leader on twenty-two titles but couldn’t play his Wimbledon semi-final.
So Djokovic can edge closer to the Spaniard by taking his twenty-first Slam against Kyrgios.
Novak is the one who has all the experience. He has the know-how and confidence.
Djokovic is reigning Wimbledon champion and he must start favourite.
And yet there is something gloriously unpredictable about Kyrgios and he might just upset the apple cart.
Kyrgios doesn’t fear Novak but does he fear the occasion?

That was on hard court but Nick loves grass as much as Novak.
