If you want to see the best of Roger Federer, come to Wimbledon 2021!

But you don’t have to take our word for it.

Federer is the one who is telling everyone he will peak at Wimbledon 2021.

Roland Garros will be little more than a warm-up tournament for the great man this year.

Federer said: ‘Roland Garros is not the goal. The goal is the grass. so I still have time.’

Roger played a thrilling match against Pablo Andujar in Geneva this week.

But because it was a clay court affair and he wasn’t match-sharp, he let the contest get away from him right at the end.

The Swiss genius added: ‘There were moments where I was really happy to entertain the crowd and it’s rewarding to be back on a tennis court.

‘At 4-2 ahead in the decider I thought “that’s nice” – and then a few minutes later it was all over. I wish I could have played more but you move on and I will talk to my team about what’s next.’

Federer may play Roland Garros but admits he can’t win the title there.

Wimbledon 2021 is where Federer hopes to go deep and maybe even take a record 21st Slam.

The adoring Centre Court crowd will cheer him loudly. And there has been more good news for tennis fans.

The All England Club are confident they can host significantly more than the minimum 25 per cent of full capacity on their show courts this summer.

That’s because trial events in England involving big crowds have not resulted in spikes of virus transmission.

The AELTC said: ‘While the health and safety of all our guests remains our highest priority, further to the stage-three relaxation of restrictions and early positive indications from the Event Research Programme, we are confident that we will be able to increase our ticketing capacities for the Championships this year beyond the 25 per cent position we set out last month.

‘This confidence is based in particular on the reintroduction of the rule of six indoors in restaurants from May 17, and early indications that stage-four guidance could include similar relaxations of the guidance for sports stadia.’

English sport is moving back towards a happy normality. Wimbledon 2021 will be a truly joyous event.

Roger Federer and even more loving fans on Centre Court at Wimbledon! It’s a dream come true.
