Jack Draper Finds His Feet on Monte Carlo Clay in Style

Jack Draper is back in the groove and taking our breath away on clay this time around.
The Brit’s 6-1, 6-1 demolition of Marcos Giron only took an hour – and should leave Draper with the firm belief he can produce his best on any surface.
Jack Draper is already creating excitement at the All England Club and we can’t wait to see him back on grass at Wimbledon 2025!
Nothing about his super show in Monaco was more memorable than a leaping backhand pass down the line at the start of the second set.
The sheer athleticism and brilliant pin-point accuracy from London’s new sensation were a joy to behold.
By the time Draper secured victory, he needed no more than a self-congratulatory fist pump to celebrate.
Jack is clearly going in search of bigger wins in Monte Carlo. Next up is the winner of this morning’s match between Tomas Martin Etcheverry and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
And there is no reason why Draper can’t go deep in the Principality, as we start the long build-up to the French Open.
He certainly isn’t short of confidence. But Jack also knows what he needs to bring to his game in order to maintain momentum.
Draper explained: ‘I’ve been working really hard to look for my forehand and do all the right things to be effective on this surface. Hopefully with my new tennis I can have a good run.
‘I’m growing in confidence. It has obviously been a bit of an adjustment. Last year I came here ranked 40-odd in the world and now I’m number six.
‘It has been an amazing year so far – and now I want to keep it up after all the hard work. I know people will be after me, that’s for sure.’
