Jannik Sinner Makes New History with Untouchable Double

March 30, 2026
Jannik Sinner has made tennis history by becoming the first man to achieve the Sunshine Double without dropping a single set.
He has now won 34 sets on the bounce at Masters 1000 events!
And Sinner joins the great Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal as the only superstars to earn titles at three of these prestigious tournaments in a row.
Jannik Sinner will be out to win his second consecutive grass court major at Wimbledon 2026 as well!
But it was his “Untouchable Double” at Indian Wells and Miami this March that has left the tennis world open-mouthed in admiration.
The Italian has only lost one match so far this year – the big one against Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open semi-final.
That enabled Carlos Alcaraz to complete the Career Slam with victory over the Serb in the final.
And Carlitos will be a formidable rival to Sinner during the forthcoming clay court season.
But now is the moment to celebrate Sinner and his simple-sounding 6-4, 6-4 victory over Jiri Lehecka in Miami.
In fact it was a test of nerve in many ways. There was the big moment in the first set when Jannik found himself 0-40 down.
He simply deployed that awesome serve to maximum effect to take the next five points.
Then there were the rain interruptions which were enough to pose a threat to any man’s rhythm.
But Sinner stayed strong – and it was Lehecka who blinked first in that second set as he fought to stay in the match.
Jannik Sinner has won $3, 215,250 in prize money so far this season – and a mind-boggling $61,191,211 in his career up to this point. Not bad for 24-year-old.
But when you have that kind of wealth, it’s only the sporting achievement that really matters any more.
Jannik said: ‘It means a lot to me. The Sunshine Double for the first time. It’s incredible! Something I never would have thought could happen to me, because it’s difficult to achieve. We made it somehow, so I’m very happy.’
Lehecka said he was ‘very satisfied’ with his game after moving up to a career-high 14th in the world. Can he pose a threat at Wimbledon 2026 too?
Whatever happens, make sure you’re at Wimbledon 2026 to enjoy the perfect fusion of history and glamour. It’s the most stylish social event of the summer in London.
Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are the kind of sporting giants you’ll want to see up close and personal on Centre Court at Wimbledon 2026. You’ll never forget the experience.
