Taylor Fritz Faces Stefanos Tsitsipas, Coco Gauff Wins Again

Australian Open

January 19, 2024

Taylor Fritz and Coco Gauff are making their mark at the Australian Open already.

The first Grand Slam of the season is warming up nicely – and leading us to look forward to what lies ahead later this year.

We can’t wait to see Taylor Fritz and Coco Gauff – arguably the best Americans on grass – at Wimbledon 2024!

Jessica Pegula and Ben Shelton may have been knocked out earlier than expected on the Melbourne hard courts. But they’ll be back with a bang soon enough.

And other Americans have hit their stride Down Under in delightful style. Fritz and Gauff are showing clear signs of a quality that should last all year long.

Stunning fun awaits American fans at the All England Club in July. And it’s great news for all those planning to come to this historic Wimbledon 2024.

It could be the final goodbye for Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal and perhaps even Novak Djokovic on grass. The young guns are taking over – and Americans are at the forefront of the changing of the guard.

Taylor and Coco are certainly ones to watch.

Fritz defeated Fabian Maroszan despite being bamboozled by drop-shots in the opening set. Deep hitting soon neutralised that troublesome tactic – and Fritz took control.

He earned a mouth-watering reward for that 3-6, 6-4, 6-2, 6-2 victory – a dazzling fourth-round clash against one of the most charismatic men in the game.

Fritz will now play last year’s Australian Open finalist, Stefanos Tsitsipas. And that should provide us with a thrilling battle between two of our favourite swashbuckling heroes.

The Greek leads the head-to-head 3-1. But Fritz took their last contest in Monte Carlo.

Taylor knows he will have to hit the ground running against Tsitsipas. Stef has been tipped by none other than Aussie anti-hero Nick Kyrgios to win the tournament!

But this is a match we’re all going to relish after Tsitsipas dismissed the Frenchman Luca Van Assche 6-3, 6-0, 6-4.

‘I wanted to go out here today and show a passionate and determined Stef from the very beginning,’ Tsitsipas revealed later.

If Fritz can meet fire with fire, the explosive results should be awesome to behold.

Meanwhile Coco Gauff is leading the way among the women in the early rounds at Melbourne.

She produced an overwhelming performance to see off fellow American Alycia Parks 6-0, 6-2.

And Coco’s next opponent, Magdalena Frech will know she has her work cut out just to compete with Gauff in this kind of form.

Taylor Fritz and Coco Gauff will be huge Centre Court stars at Wimbledon 2024!

Don’t forget Taylor was a Wimbledon quarter-finalist in 2022.
