Emma Raducanu is ready to return to competitive tennis at long last.
And that’s great news for fans hoping to see the British superstar at the All England Club next July.
Emma Raducanu going deep at Wimbledon 2024! That’s what we would all love to see.
The first steps come in New Zealand in January at the ASB Classic tournament in Auckland.
We shouldn’t expect too much of Emma at that event. After all, she hasn’t been able to play big-time tennis since April.
And some people were worried that she might have decided to call it a day and stay in the commercial world instead.
But money isn’t everything to Emma Raducanu. She still remembers the thrill of winning the US Open in 2021.
And while she is still young, she would love to hit those levels of tennis excellence once more.
Many of us will remember the hunger she showed when she broke through at the Battle of the Brits tournament organised by Jamie Murray in 2020.
And then she showed such desire at Wimbledon to make the second week against the odds.
Raducanu Mania was born! But no one could quite believe her run from qualifying at Flushing Meadows right through to taking the title itself!
Emma has been through some turbulent times since. She has occasionally struggled with the pressures of superstardom – and her body hasn’t always held up under the rigours of the tour.
We sincerely hope that 2024 will be her big comeback year. Emma deserves this.
Wimbledon 2024 would be the perfect place for Emma Raducanu to hit new heights!
The first Grand Slam of the year is the Australian Open, of course.
And although Raducanu missed out on the initial wildcard handout, she is still hopeful of playing in the Aussie Open one way or another.
But for now she can be happy to rub shoulders with the likes of Coco Gauff and Caroline Wozniacki in Auckland in the first week of the New Year.
Six months down the line, she should be preparing for the biggest Grand Slam of them all – Wimbledon 2024!
