Murray Focuses On Wimbledon, Medvedev Wins Rome

Murray is convinced he can still be the man. That’s why Andy has withdrawn from the French Open to concentrate on preparing for Wimbledon 2023.

Meanwhile Daniil Medvedev has won his first Masters 1000 title on clay.

He saw off Holger Rune 7-5, 7-5 for his maiden victory in Rome – and will rise to world number two this week.

That means Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic could face each other before the final at Roland Garros.

Another title winner in Italy was Elena Rybakina, the Wimbledon champion.

She knows her game can adapt to any surface – and she will go to Paris full of confidence.

For Andy Murray, however, some difficult choices had to be made. And he has decided the grass of England will offer the last big chance to go deep at a Grand Slam.

Murray still believes he can go all the way at Wimbledon 2023!

And that’s why he has taken the decision to sacrifice Roland Garros.

Murray won some epic contests at the Australian Open this year. But he hinted earlier in May that the French Open might have to be removed from his schedule.

He said: ‘I trust my body now but I’m aware that my best chance of having a deep run at a Grand Slam is more likely to happen at Wimbledon.’

Explaining further, he added recently: ‘I was looking at playing Roland Garros because I don’t know if I’ll get another opportunity to play there again.

‘But I also have ambitions of competing for Wimbledon titles. I know that sitting here today that probably doesn’t sound realistic. But I do believe that’s a possibility.’

Murray will do everything he can to hit peak form for Wimbledon 2023 in July.

That means he might be tempted to play warm-up tournaments on the grass at Surbiton and Queen’s in June.

Wimbledon 2023 is just around the corner! And Murray probably has as much chance of glory as Rome champion Medvedev, who has never been past the fourth round at the All England Club.

The Wimbledon title is there for the taking – and so are the best seats on Centre Court!

Will you be there to see fresh history made at the most glamorous venue in British sport?

Come to Wimbledon 2023. You won’t be disappointed.
