Alcaraz and Rybakina Go for the Sunshine Double!

March 31, 2023

Alcaraz and Rybakina are the names on everyone’s lips in America right now.

Carlos and Elena already have the Indian Wells singles titles under their belts.

And now they’re edging ever closer to glory in Miami too.

Alcaraz has a difficult semi-final against the talented Italian, Jannik Sinner.

But Carlos did manage to overcome his fellow youngster in Indian Wells – and he must start as favourite once more.

Alcaraz hasn’t dropped a set yet in either American tournament. That hasn’t been done since 1990!

Rybakina is already through to the women’s final, where she plays either Sorana Cirstea of Romania or two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova.

Elena is reigning Wimbledon champion and has all the quality to take her second title in a matter of weeks.

Alcaraz and Rybakina will be massive attractions at Wimbledon 2023. Their stars are still rising!

Carlos is just a wonder to behold. American hot-shot Taylor Fritz did his best and could have upset the apple cart when he had break points early in their quarter-final.

But Alcaraz had already broken first with a stunning backhand pass – and he headed off the danger with magical half-volleys.

No one could deny that the reigning Miami champion deserved his victory.

Fritz will be stronger for the experience. But it was Carlos who progressed with another relatively comfortable straight sets triumph by 6-4, 6-2.

The teenager’s speed, poise and balance are something every tennis fan should see first-hand. His athleticism and effortless repertoire are truly extraordinary.

You could say the same about Rybakina – though she was sorely tested in both sets by tough American Jessica Pegula.

‘The first-set tie-break could have gone either way,’ she admitted later. And Elena was in further trouble when she trailed 2-4 in the second.

Then Rybakina suddenly seemed to flick a switch and she was unstoppable. Aces, spectacular overhead smashes and dream forehands flowed from the Kazakh’s racquet.

Elena closed out the match 7-6 (7-3), 6-4. By the time it was over, you felt she could do no wrong.

Brave Pegula was finally overrun – but she’ll be a force to be reckoned with when she steps out onto the manicured lawns of the All England Club.

Imagine watching the brilliant Rybakina and Alcaraz in full flow at Wimbledon 2023!

And don’t forget that Fritz and Pegula are tipped to go deep for America too!

Will you be there to watch them all turn into tennis legends in London this summer?

Novak Djokovic and Emma Raducanu will try to stop Carlos and Elena in their tracks on Centre Court.

Taylor and Jessica will enjoy a big American following in the unique atmosphere of the world’s greatest Grand Slam.

It should make for an amazing Championships! Who will prevail?

For now it’s all about that twin attempt on the Sunshine Double

Rybakina and Alcaraz have already reminded us that the future of tennis is secure. In fact it’s positively glittering!

Come and enjoy the history and glamour of Wimbledon 2023. We’re waiting to help make that dream come true.
