Novak Djokovic To Win Calendar Slam, Predicts Legend

February 10, 2023

Novak Djokovic can win every Grand Slam title of 2023.

That’s the extraordinary prediction from legendary tennis commentator Simon Reed.

It’s Simon’s velvety voice you’re likely to hear most when you follow the tennis tours on Eurosport.

He’s probably the best in the business in any sport. And he knows his stuff as a tennis expert.

That’s why his verdict is worth considering carefully. And if he’s right, Wimbledon 2023 will be historic.

Novak Djokovic could use Wimbledon 2023 to become the greatest man or woman of the open era.

Reed, brother of the late, great actor Oliver Reed, told WDH: ‘I wouldn’t be surprised if Novak wins all four Slams this year. He’s the greatest player of all time.

‘Some people find it hard to love him – but you have to marvel at him. Djokovic is fantastic to watch. Tennis is a cross between chess and boxing – and Novak always seems to work it out and find a way.’

Some experts feel Djokovic could potentially come unstuck on the clay of Roland Garros, as he seeks to reign at every major event once more.

But with Rafael Nadal struggling physically these days, Novak could pounce once more.

Reed explained: ‘It depends how strong Rafael Nadal is when it comes to Paris. We’re used to questioning Rafa before Roland Garros. We wonder whether an injury setback might be too much – and then he wins it again anyway.

‘And Nadal may win the French Open again this year too, for all we know. But I think he has more to come back from this year. I have a feeling Novak will do it.’

And if Djokovic fulfils that prophecy at Roland Garros, it means he will arrive at Wimbledon 2023 with 23 majors under his belt. And we all know what that means. He will have eclipsed the great Nadal.

Novak Djokovic will then try to surpass Serena Williams at Wimbledon 2023 to become the undisputed greatest of all time in the open era.

As defending champion, Djokovic would be expected to achieve just that!

‘Wimbledon then becomes almost a formality,’ says Reed bravely, although all experts know deep down there can be upsets in any tournament.

Can you imagine the enormity of Wimbledon 2023, if the Grand Slam tallies of the greatest from the men’s and women’s game are level?

Serena will undoubtedly watch with interest as her historic record goes up against Novak’s on the famous grass of Wimbledon.

‘I think they’ll be honing in on that one nearer the time,’ Reed predicted of his fellow experts.

But at WDH we’re looking forward to the battles at the All England Club already!

And if Djokovic wins Wimbledon 2023, he will draw level with Margaret Court on 24 Grand Slams.

All arguments could then be ended at Flushing Meadows – open era or otherwise.

The Calendar Slam. All four for Novak. Ahead of everyone historically. Can he do it?

What a fantastic tennis year we have ahead of us!

Simon Reed believes it could be the year Novak Djokovic makes that GOAT title his own.

‘I really do,’ he emphasises.

But for Reed, Djokovic is there already. The greatest.

Wimbledon 2023 could be where history finally does all Novak’s talking for him.

Do you agree with Simon Reed? And will you be there to witness these historic moments?
