Coco Gauff is the youngest player to qualify for the WTA Finals since Maria Sharapova.
And Coco will also be competing in the doubles alongside fellow American Jessica Pegula.
You only have to look at the singles rankings to understand the latest chapter of the American success story.
At the age of just eighteen, Gauff is now ranked fourth in the world. Pegula is even higher at number three.
Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula are set for huge stardom at Wimbledon 2023.
Coco is already Wimbledon’s darling, of course. She is famous and much-loved for her heroic performances on Centre Court when she was only fifteen.
Imagine what she could do when she returns to the All England Club next summer! She may even win the tournament!
Gauff is rightly delighted with the way she has handled the pressure and worked hard to improve since she became a child star.
Now she is flying high at just the right time, with those WTA Finals in Fort Worth, Texas just around the corner.
Coco said: ‘I’m super excited to be playing in the WTA Finals, especially in the USA, and qualifying in singles and doubles is definitely a good achievement.
‘I didn’t expect that when I set my goals at the beginning of the year. I’m really happy and hope I can do a good performance there.’
Meanwhile Taylor Fritz is also flying the flag for America as he battles for a year-end ATP Finals spot over in Europe.
Taylor Fritz could go deep at Wimbledon 2023 and thrill the American contingent there.
And don’t forget the massive entertainment value of another rising American hero, Frances Tiafoe.
It’s fair to say that American tennis is back with a bang. And that’s great news for Wimbledon 2023.
