Novak Djokovic is back in his familiar role – winning tennis titles.

The versatile star just secured career title number 89 and showed what we already knew – that he is supremely comfortable on any surface given the chance.

Djokovic became the first man to take a trophy on hard, clay and grass courts this year.

Novak Djokovic will be a strong contender to defend his title at Wimbledon 2023!

You will recall he displayed all his customary precision and mastery to see off the fiery threat of Nick Kyrgios at Wimbledon in the summer.

And now Novak has returned to victory mode with an impressive performance at the Tel Aviv Open.

He beat former US Open champion and Wimbledon finalist Marin Cilic 6-3, 6-4 in the final in Israel.

The Serb never even faced a break point in the first set against Cilic. And he didn’t drop a set all tournament in his emphatic march to glory.

So it was a deeply satisfied Novak Djokovic who reflected on a tournament that gave him a fresh taste of his favourite feeling.

Novak said: ‘I played some very good tennis, I think. I hadn’t played a tournament in three months. So it was really extra motivation for me to do well.

‘People have been so friendly and so supportive of me throughout the week.’

And Novak reciprocated in charming style when he gave a tearful boy his tennis racquet as a gift at the end of his exploits.

Of course, Djokovic will have his eye on much bigger prizes in the coming months.

Wimbledon 2023 will welcome Novak Djokovic as reigning champion. We’ll see if he can fight off the next generation one last time!
