Kyrgios Sets Up Tsitsipas Blockbuster, Boulter Leads British Charge

Wimbledon

July 1, 2022

Kyrgios is the name that so often spells trouble. But the ever-controversial Nick is also irresistible box office.

He is in superb form despite his unpredictable behaviour. And Kyrgios has set his sights on a deep run this year at Wimbledon 2022.

Add in the power and temperament of the fiery Stefanos Tsitsipas and you have a third-round clash that becomes sheer box office.

Kyrgios v Tsitspias at Wimbledon 2022 is a showdown no one can ignore.

The anti-hero against the fourth seed promises to be an explosive affair.

And yet the contest is unlikely to be staged on Centre Court because of the Australian’s behaviour.

So far this year Nick has spat towards the crowd and insulted two line officials. He has been fined and is under further investigation.

There is talk that Kyrgios will therefore be banished to the outside courts indefinitely.

But that would be tough on Tsitsipas. And maybe No1 Court would be a fitting venue for the match everyone will want to see on Saturday.

Whatever is decided, we can expect fireworks on Saturday and plenty of drama on the show courts.

Katie Boulter stands a fair chance of performing on Centre Court again after her heroics on Thursday.

The British wildcard stunned Karolina Pliskova, who made the Wimbledon final last year.

Boulter stormed back to win 3-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 and reach the the third round of a Grand Slam for the first time.

Kyrgios and Boulter are grabbing the attention at a wonderful Wimbledon 2022!

Next up for Katie is Harmony Tan, first-round conqueror of the great Serena Williams.

And it wasn’t just Boulter who helped the Brits stage something of a comeback at their home slam.

After the elimination of superstars Andy Murray and Emma Raducanu, there were also heartening wins for English players Heather Watson and Liam Broady.

And if you’re in search of the all-time-greats, don’t forget that Rafael Nadal is slowly finding form on grass with every passing round.

We might still get the dream final between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal!
