Rafael Nadal Is On The Comeback Trail As Aussie Open Awaits

Australian Open

November 4, 2021

Rafael Nadal is aiming to be fully fit for the Australian Open and take the chance to become the greatest player of all time.

It’s wonderful news for the tennis world as the race for that historic top spot hots up.

With the participation of Novak Djokovic at the Aussie Open still unclear, Nadal may see an opportunity to get ahead and notch that twenty-first Grand Slam in Melbourne.

Sascha Zverev may be a serious contender after winning the Vienna Open – and many more will try to make their mark Down Under.

But who doesn’t want to see the passionate Nadal in full flow once more?

We would love to see Rafael Nadal doing great things again at Wimbledon 2022!

That enticing possibility just became a little more realistic.

Rafa is cautiously optimistic as he monitors his own progress.

But his mood is positive and his intentions are clear.

Nadal explained: ‘My plan is to play Abu Dhabi in December and then in a tournament before Australia and then the Australian Open.

‘That’s my goal. We’re working hard to make it happen.

‘The injury in my foot still needs to get a little better. But I’m already training almost an hour and a half a day so that’s positive.

‘Some days are better than others. But I’m starting to have a lot more positive days than negative ones.

‘So I’m on the right track. I’m training, I’m feeling better. I’m back on the court.’

And that’s where we all want to see Rafa – including at Wimbledon 2022.

Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal are all tied on twenty Grand Slams.

The situation couldn’t possibly be more exciting.

Nadal will remember how Federer struck gold in Australia at a similar age to boost his own Grand Slam total after injury.

Why shouldn’t Rafa follow suit?

Meanwhile Andy Murray plans to be in Abu Dhabi too, then play the Battle of the Brits in Aberdeen in December.

Finally he aims to take part at the Stockholm Open before ending his season.

Could Murray also make waves in Australia early next year? Anything is possible as the greatest players of our generation prepare to become sporting gladiators on the biggest stages once more.

Would you like to see the legendary stars at Wimbledon 2022, the most prestigious tournament of them all?

We can make that happen.
