Emma Raducanu Plays Royal Albert Hall, Cam Norrie Makes Final

Indian Wells

October 17, 2021

Emma Raducanu and Cameron Norrie are taking the tennis world by storm.

The bright young British stars have made a big impact in America over the last two months.

Raducanu won the US Open and now Norrie has reached the Indian Wells final.

Cam and Emma. Trips off the tongue doesn’t it?

Looks like they will be headline acts at Wimbledon 2022!

Cameron beat Grigor Dimitrov 6-2, 6-4 in their semi-final and now faces Nikoloz Basilashvili in Sunday evening’s showpiece.

It’s an incredible breakthrough for the 26-year-old at the tournament known as the “Fifth Slam.”

And Norrie did it in the presence of the great Australian legend, Rod Laver.

That made it extra special because he had lost a final to Norway’s Casper Ruud in San Diego recently with Laver also looking on.

Cam explained: ‘It is so special to have him here. I was destroyed by Casper in that one and I was thinking, “he must think I’m awful at the game.”

‘It was nice to come out here and show him that I could actually play some decent tennis.’

Now Norrie is aiming for the World Tour Finals in Turin.

He has an outside chance of making the prestigious end-of-year event, too!

Meanwhile Raducanu has already written her name in history.

She recently became the first qualifier ever to win a Grand Slam at Flushing Meadows.

Back home we are all desperate to witness her magic first-hand.

And Raducanu returns to action in Britain on Sunday November 28.

She will play an exhibition match at the Royal Albert Hall and is sure to receive a rapturous reception from home fans.

It’s all part of the ATP Champions Tour and British legend Greg Rusedski will be playing.

A popular Wimbledon champion, Goran Ivanisovic will also entertain the lucky audience.

And that event will help keep us going in Britain until the summer.

Then we’ll see Emma Raducanu and Cam Norrie strut their stuff at Wimbledon 2022.

And they will receive the warmest of welcomes after their heroic exploits across the Atlantic.

Both players have a great chance to go deep at Wimbledon 2022.

Their rate of improvement is simply breath-taking. Now the sky is the limit!

Add the great Andy Murray and Roger Federer into the mix and you have a tennis occasion like no other.
