Andy Murray Will Have Huge 2021 Says Brother Jamie

Sir Andy Murray is shaping up for a  huge 2021 – and his brother Jamie couldn’t be happier for him.

It’s typical of the Murray family to bounce back from life’s misfortunes.

Andy couldn’t play in the Australian Open but he won’t be sitting idly by in February.

Instead Murray will start his year in Italy and build all the way to Wimbledon 2021.

The indoor tournament in Biella is just a challenger event with 132,000 euros in prize money.

But sport has never been about money for Murray, who is already rich beyond his wildest dreams.

He just wants to play again as soon as possible this year. Italy provides the perfect early stage, with the event beginning on February 15.

Andy may be starting small but he is thinking big.

We only have to listen to his brother Jamie to sense that Murray wants to make a memorable impact at Wimbledon 2021.

Jamie said: ‘He has done incredibly well to get to this point where he feels he can go out and compete against the best players in the world.

‘It has been difficult for him but I think he is in a good place right now. That’s just the vibes I get from seeing him in training and some of the matches we had in December.’

Andy played at brother Jamie’s second “Battle of the Brits” tournament just before Christmas. He beat British number one Dan Evans and then the improving Cameron Norrie in the space of a few days.

Jamie feels that Andy is right on the verge of breaking back through into the big time.

He explained: ‘This is obviously a huge year for him. If he can stay fit, healthy and play a full calendar year and see where he’s at, what his level’s at, what he’s able to do week in, week out on the tour. He’s not had a clear run at it for two or three years, maybe even longer.

‘He’s still got a lot of great tennis in him. His tennis ability hasn’t diminished in any way. It’s just obviously whether his body can cope with the demands of the tour.’

It is fantastic for Wimbledon 2021 fans to hear from Jamie that Andy Murray isn’t diminished in any way as a player.

Rest assured that Andy Murray will tailor every careful step to make sure that he hits peak fitness levels for Wimbledon 2021.

And it’s exciting to think that Andy’s brother is sure he still has the ability to go deep at Slams in the long run.

No doubt Murray would love to have another crack at his beloved Olympic Games too.

But if Wimbledon 2021 proves to be his last battle ground, so be it. The beautiful manicured lawns of the All England Club would provide the perfect stage for a fond farewell.

Will you be there too? Historic, emotional, stylish and dramatic. The 2021 Wimbledon cocktail will be hard to resist.

Roger Federer, Serena Williams, Andy Murray…don’t miss what could be your last chance to see them in singles action at the home of world tennis.
