Halep Rules Rome With Fans In Arena!

There’s no stopping the reigning Wimbledon champion, Simona Halep.
We just can’t wait to see Halep defend her title at Wimbledon 2021.
And there’s no reason why Simona won’t return to the All England club next summer in typically sparkling form.
Fourteen victories and no defeats so far this season. Her first Italian Open title.
A devastating final performance in front of a limited number of lucky supporters in the famous Foro Italico.
This was the one crown that had eluded the likeable Romanian, a case of third-time-lucky in the showpiece.
True, Karolina Pliskova suffered from back and hamstring trouble during this particular showdown.
Simona was 6-0 and 2-1 up when the tearful Czech had to retire.
But Halep had already earned her crown. She had beaten former Wimbledon champion Garbine Muguruza and everyone else in her path.
She had taken just twenty minutes to win the first set of the final. Pliskova hadn’t fired a single winner.
Halep only made five unforced errors all match. Her opponent made 16 and couldn’t stop double-faulting.
And we mustn’t forget that Simona could have been rusty after missing out on all the excitement at Flushing Meadows.
We needn’t have worried. A huge beaming smile on Simona’s face told us she will go into the French Open firing on all cylinders.
And why shouldn’t she win Roland Garros again too?
For now, Halep reflected with satisfaction on landing the Italian title.
She said: ‘Thank you for coming. It’s been nice to play two days in a row in front of some crowd!
‘Congrats to Karolina and I know it’s not the way you wanted to finish. But you had a great week and maybe we’ll meet at Roland Garros, probably in the final there too!
‘I’m really happy, after losing two finals here, to have this beautiful trophy in my hands.’
Pliskova said: ‘Disappointing for me to not finish today. But “Simo” was too strong and obviously I have to be ready for the French.
‘Great to play in front of some fans!’
And of course, Wimbledon 2021 will be played in front of the lucky spectators who flock to watch the historic matches on Centre Court and No1.
