Katie Boulter Gains Revenge in Miami to Maintain 2026 Trend

Katie Boulter negotiated some tense moments in Miami to score an important first win.

This triumph also constituted revenge for a painful reverse against the same opponent at the US Open back in 2024.

The scream that Katie let out after securing victory told us what it meant – particularly with her beloved partner Alex de Minaur looking on.

She had fought off multiple set points in an epic opener against Jessica Bouzas Maneiro.

There had been breaks and break-backs in the second set too, with Aussie star De Minaur appearing increasingly anxious. Boulter finally closed out 7-6 (11-9), 6-4 – to everyone’s relief.

It’s an impressive win for 67th-ranked Boulter against a player from the top fifty. Katie is climbing back to where she should be.

Already, this year looks so much better than last for the willowy Brit. At 29 years of age, she wants to savour every moment of success.

She landed her fourth WTA career title in Ostrava last month. That winning feeling gave a very popular player so much new confidence.

Katie Boulter would love nothing more than to make Wimbledon 2026 a home major to remember.

She is certainly heading in the right direction as she puts a nightmare 2025 behind her,

A satisfied Katie reflected: ‘I know what a good player [Jessica]. The level and quality of our tennis was good. It got so I knew if I didn’t hit a winner, she would,’

There were indeed some dramatic exchanges as that second set reached its climax. The Spaniard fought hard to survive.

But the plucky loser also gifted Boulter ten double faults all told – and Katie’s next opponent is unlikely to be so accommodating.

Danish hot-shot Clara Tauson is the 17th seed – and she won’t be feeling generous in the round of 64.

But whatever happens in that showdown, Boulter is back. And crucially she is enjoying her tennis again.

Katie Boulter will also enjoy a warm welcome and loud support at Wimbledon 2026. She wants to be in the best possible form to embrace that moment.

Will you be there to savour everything Wimbledon 2026 has to offer? There’s a unique fusion of history and glamour awaiting you. It’s London’s most celebrated event on the summer social calendar.
