Katie Boulter Wins Ostrava but Emma Raducanu Loses Her Final

Katie Boulter found a beautiful inside-out crosscourt winner to seal the fourth title of her career.
It was her 23rd sizzling winner in a match that lasted just under two hours against Tamara Korpatsch in friendly Ostrava.
And the delight on her face was clear after fifteen months without a trophy. Unfortunately 2025 had been something of a write-off for the willowy star.
Katie Boulter faired much better than Emma Raducanu on a day of finals for the British girls. But both will be striving to make their mark at Wimbledon 2026 too. Will you be there?
Boulter said of her opponent: ‘Firstly I’d like to congratulate Tamara on an incredible week for you. It’s so nice to see you doing well.
‘Secondly I’d like to start with my team. We’re only a few weeks into the year but we’ve got one in the bag!
‘Everyone close to me knows how hard this last year has been for me. To win here means so much to me. Thank you so much to everyone.’
The popular Brit will be back in the top hundred now too – and no one will be more pleased than her future husband, Alex de Minaur.
Boulter stayed cool – even though she had served for the first set and had it taken away from her by determined German Korpatsch.
After taking a couple of games to compose herself, Katie dominated on the victory charge to take the title 5-7, 6-2, 6-1.
Sure, it’s only a WTA 250 tournament. But Aryna Sabalenka was the first prestigious winner here six years ago – and no championship is easy to win.
Just ask Emma Raducanu, who battled hard to reach the final at the Transylvania Open – only to be crushed 6-0, 6-2 by Romanian home girl Sorana Cirstea.
Katie Boulter and Emma Raducanu can both take positives from their tournaments after disappointing shows at the Australian Open. But Wimbledon 2026 will mean so much more as their home major!
Come to the Championships this summer and support Katie Boulter and Emma Raducanu at Wimbledon 2026.
The atmosphere on Centre Court when Brits play is absolutely incredible. Last summer when Raducanu played Aryna Sabalenka, the roof was nearly blown off the most historic court in the world, such was the noise!
When Centre Court is cheering a home hero like that, you just know there is nowhere better in the entire world for drama and glamour.
That’s why British royals and Hollywood stars flock to London’s greatest social event of the year.
