Carlos Alcaraz to Meet Sinner in Dream Wimbledon 2025 Final

Wimbledon

July 11, 2025

Carlos Alcaraz will play Jannik Sinner in the Wimbledon 2025 final on Sunday! It’s the showdown almost everyone wanted.

As soon as their magical Roland Garros showpiece was over, fans began to wonder. Could this amazing modern-day rivalry be reignited on Centre Court?

That’s exactly what’s going to happen – despite the best efforts of Taylor Fritz and Novak Djokovic in their respective semi-finals.

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner could well be about to play one of the greatest tennis matches ever seen on grass.

That’s how astonishing their levels are when these two magicians push each other to further greatness.

Taylor Fritz tried so hard to tear up that predictable script. He had two set points to take Alcaraz all the way.

Somehow Carlitos returned a 134 mph serve against the odds to stay alive. In the moments that followed, Taylor didn’t quite have the ruthless clarity to take his chances.

Alcaraz seized his opportunity to close out 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, 7-6 (8-6). Fritz was left kicking himself as he reflected on his own amazing comeback from 1-4 to 6-4 in the breaker. And how it was ultimately all in vain.

The Spaniard was rightly proud of the mentality he showed when he was so up against it, though.

Carlitos explained: ‘I’m really proud of staying calm and thinking clearly on those two set points. I’m really pleased with my level today.’

You might think Alcaraz is clear favourite for the final. He has reached his third successive Wimbledon showpiece. He is also on a 24-match wining streak. And he has won 35 of his 38 matches on grass overall.

But the way Jannik Sinner took apart the legendary Novak Djokovic tells us he has adapted completely to the tricky Wimbledon surface this year.

The Italian’s serve was imperious during his 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 romp – except for a blip when Novak took a 3-0 third-set lead.

It didn’t last long. Sinner was sliding about like Djokovic himself used to do on the dusty greenery.

Novak’s forehand was not the reliable friend he had called upon so many times in his illustrious career at the All England Club.

Was this the last time we will ever see Djokovic in the final stages at Wimbledon? That elusive 25th Grand Slam title has remained beyond the 38-year-old.

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner can be the history-makers now. They have time on their side. They are the sporting phenomenon the entire world wants to see.
