Emma Navarro Is the Player They All Fear Now at Wimbledon 2024

Wimbledon

July 8, 2024

Emma Navarro created one of the big shocks at Wimbledon 2024 when she knocked out Coco Gauff.

But the brilliant young American may not be finished after displaying an ice-cool temperament under pressure once more.

Emma Navarro could win Wimbledon 2024 at this rate. She just took down the latest favourite. And now it’s Emma who is suddenly setting the women’s game alight.

‘This may be my favourite tennis court – the best I’ve played on in my career so far,’ said Navarro.

No wonder she likes it so much after an emphatic 6-4, 6-3 win over Coco. This was her second victory against a high-profile opponent on the most historic court in world tennis.

She beat Naomi Osaka on Centre Court on Wednesday. Many people put it down to Osaka’s discomfort on grass, which goes back years.

But wiser observers also pointed to a stand-out performance from a fast-emerging player. Navarro seizes on her opponent’s biggest weakness. And she is quite ruthless in exploiting it.

Against Gauff, it was Emma’s relentless probing of Coco’s inconsistent forehand which did the damage. The far more famous player became unsettled when she failed to find a solution.

Coco’s only hope lay in the possibility of a less experienced player choking when she saw the finishing line. It didn’t happen. No wonder Navarro’s family nickname is Miss Ice.

Emma is the daughter of billionaire Ben Navarro. But she looks well on the way to earning huge money of her own as she finds her feet in the big time.

Emma Navarro is now creating incredible excitement among American fans, who are starting to believe they might be about to witness their own new star winning Wimbledon 2024.

Will you be there to watch her journey towards the finals? We can make sure you have tickets to enjoy Emma all through the second week of Wimbledon 2024.

Meanwhile there was disappointment for another Emma – the former US Open champion Emma Raducanu. Lulu Sun is only a qualifier – but she beat the home favourite 6-2, 5-7, 6-2.

Raducanu can point to injury niggles after a fall. But the truth is that she was simply outgunned this time around.

We can’t wait to see how this gloriously unpredictable women’s singles unfolds. How about you?
