Felix Auger-Aliassime has helped Canada secure their first ever Davis Cup triumph.
They beat Australia in the final in Malaga to prompt chaotic scenes of celebration.
The entire Canada team piled on top of Felix in those jubilant moments.
Auger-Aliassime has lit up most of 2022 with his sparkling form – and now he has ended his memorable year in style.
Felix Auger-Aliassime will also thrill thousands on Centre Court at Wimbledon 2023.
He has the game to go deep at the biggest Grand Slam of them all.
But for now, he has a moment to pause and reflect with satisfaction on the way Canada made their own tennis history at the weekend.
His teammate and friend, Denis Shapovalov set the ball rolling with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Thanasi Kokkinakis.
That meant Felix had to beat the dangerous Alex de Minaur to create an unassailable lead for Canada.
He did so with some scintillating tennis to complete a 6-3, 6-4 victory.
At that point he was buried under a pile of happy bodies, as the wider Canada team went into ecstatic celebration mode.
Felix said later: ‘The emotions are tough to describe. All of us here – we’ve dreamed of this moment. It’s really a dream come true.
‘We all developed as players individually, we got better and better over the years.’
Felix Auger-Aliassime is now more than good enough to make a massive impact at Wimbledon 2023.
This first Davis Cup triumph came 109 years after Canada first started trying to take the trophy. It was their second final and now Auger-Aliassime knows he is capable of winning anything.
In 2022 Felix won four titles. He was top dog at Rotterdam, Florence, Antwerp and Basel – and he beat Carlos Alcaraz along the way.
