Taylor Fritz is through to his first quarter-final in Monte Carlo to maintain his extraordinary momentum.

The man who won Indian Wells is in great form again down on the Mediterranean.

And some will be surprised about how well he is moving on clay.

Fritz defeated his doubles partner Sebastian Korda 7-6 (7-4), 7-5 to progress in style.

And Fritz could be a big sensation at Wimbledon 2022!

It’s been a while since American fans had a leading man to cheer at the home of tennis.

But Fritz is fast becoming a superstar.

He has always been blessed with movie-star looks.

Now he has the game to match. A deadly serve is the foundation for so much more.

Fritz won 82 per cent of points behind his first serve and an equally impressive 68 per cent behind his second.

But a sudden change in direction at a crucial moment in the first-set tie-break was pivotal.

As the two American friends slugged it out diagonally, Fritz suddenly punched a backhand straight down the line to take control.

Korda had his moments in the second set including eight successful points in a row.

Yet the drop-shot, a selection that had previously served him so well, let him down in the end.

Fritz pounced to show how much better he is moving these days.

And an amazing backhand volley at the net showed Taylor’s increasing potential for versatility.

He finished off a sparkling performance with a fitting ace.

Interestingly the top half of the Monte Carlo draw is starting to open up for the statuesque American.

He is growing in confidence all the time.

Why shouldn’t Fritz make a big impact at Wimbledon 2022?

He is sure to be a big favourite with the fans.

And he has already shown he can handle the big moments.

There is no more important arena than Centre Court, Wimbledon.

Will you be there?
