Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek are now huge names to enjoy when they play on grass this summer.
They just took Miami’s coveted 1000 singles titles for the next generation.
Alacaraz was 1-4 down in the first set against Casper Ruud. But he suddenly exploded into life to take the showpiece 7-5, 6-4 at the age of eighteen.
He is the youngest player in history to win Miami and the third youngest to win a Masters title.
No wonder he fell to the floor and held his head in his hands.
Then the new sensation went to hug his team and had most of them in tears.
Carlos said: ‘I have no words to describe how I feel right now. It’s so special and I’m so happy with the win and to celebrate with my team.’

Swiatek has already triumphed at Junior Wimbledon and now she is the world number one.
We expected a three-set thriller in the Miami women’s final. But Iga was just too good for Naomi Osaka on the day.
The first set was competitive enough until Swiatek found the vital break.
Then Osaka crumbled and the Super Pole showed no mercy to clinch the silverware 6-4, 6-0.
Ever since she won the French Open in 2020, Iga has been searching for consistency.
Now she has achieved just that with an astonishing seventeen straight wins.
Success in Miami also meant she has completed the Sunshine Double following her win at Indian Wells.
Only Stefi Graf, Kim Clijsters and Victoria Azarenka had ever done that before.
‘I feel pretty privileged that I can be among those players,’ Swiatek said, ‘because I wouldn’t even dream of it a few years ago.’
But no one had ever won the first three WTA 1000 tournaments of the year until Iga just did it.
Iga Swiatek and Carlos Alcaraz have both made incredible strides in the last year.
And it is no coincidence that both use sports psychologists.
They now seem so strong mentally that nothing knocks them off their game for long.
