Roger Federer and Sir Andy Murray both love Wimbledon like no other tournament.
They have experienced their finest moments at the All England Club.
And now it’s time for these tennis greats to focus on The Championships once more.
Already Roger Federer and Brit Murray are gearing everything towards Wimbledon 2022.
Federer won’t risk full action until nearer Wimbledon because he wants to avoid further injury.
Murray is probably going to skip the clay court season for precisely the same reason.
It says everything about Wimbledon 2022!
Sure, the Australian Open was fantastic. Roland Garros will doubtless be wonderful too.
But Wimbledon remains the most prestigious Grand Slam of them all.
And Wimbledon 2022 is where Federer wants to make his last stand.
That much is clear from the Swiss master’s management of his comeback from injury.
Federer said recently: ‘To give you a little bit of an update, maybe I have a very interesting and important few months ahead of me.
‘I feel I will know where my body is going to be in April. Until now, I haven’t really been allowed to run yet. No heavy workload with jumps or stop-and-goes.
‘So hopefully all that’s going to start in a couple of weeks. And then we’ll see how the body will react to that. So we’ll know better in April or May.’
Wimbledon 2022 is what Federer still dreams of winning.
He added: ‘Of course the drive is there. I’m really motivated to do my work when I’m allowed to. I’m back in the gym again tomorrow.’
Make no mistake, Federer will work night and day for the chance to entertain us all at Wimbledon 2022. And we’re confident that hard work will pay off.
Federer will be back on Centre Court in Centenary Year for one last, historic farewell.
The same goes for Andy Murray. The Scot will forsake Roland Garros to give himself the best chance at Wimbledon 2022.
He explained: ‘Right now I am not planning on playing through the clay. I’ve spoken to my team about that and while I feel good and healthy, I don’t want to take that risk.’
Like Federer, Murray feels he has an outside chance of winning Wimbledon 2022 if he can just get on a good run.
Andy Murray and Wimbledon. They will forever go together.
And this is why Wimbledon 2022 is the number one tennis ticket. It’s where the most loved players will take centre stage in a few months’ time.
Will you be there to see the all-time-greats while you still can?
