Andy Murray is already working towards Wimbledon 2022!
The British legend is desperate to go deep at the biggest tournament on the tennis calendar next year.
So he has been quietly busy preparing his schedule on grass.
Andy Murray will use Stuttgart as his first stepping stone towards Wimbledon 2022.
‘Looking forward to it!’ said the Scottish favourite on twitter as he pictured a summer of success in Europe.
And he explained: ‘I’m always looking forward to the lawn season. So I’ll start my preparations for it a little earlier than usual next year.’
The meaning is unmistakeable. Murray wants to focus on Wimbledon 2022 above all.
He dreams of going deep into the second week of his home Slam.
And knowing the way Andy thinks, he won’t rule out winning Wimbledon for a third time before he retires!
It’s great news for Wimbledon 2022 and anyone thinking of buying a ticket for the greatest social event of the British summer calendar.
And the Germans are similarly delighted to host a top British star. Murray couldn’t be more enthusiastic.
He added: ‘I will be playing on grass in Stuttgart for the first time and I am really looking forward to this new experience.’
MercedesCup organisers are ecstatic and feel like Christmas has come early.
They tweeted: ‘Not only Santa has great surprises for you today. We’re proud to announce that Andy Murray will start next year’s road to Wimbledon in Stuttgart.’
The Germans understand that this is all about Wimbledon 2022 for Andy Murray.
They are happy to play their part in his preparations for the tournament that means more than any other. Organisers explained the added prestige that Murray’s presence brings.
‘Andy Murray, along with Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic is one of the Big Four who have decisively shaped tennis over the last decade and a half.
‘We are pleased to be able to present this exceptional talent to the Stuttgart audience for the first time in the coming year,’ said tournament director Edwin Weindorfer.
Wimbledon 2022 will be equally delighted that Andy Murray should come home in peak form.
