Jannik Sinner Extends Unbeaten Indoor Run to 28 Matches in Turin

Jannik Sinner seems unbeatable indoors after a masterclass against Alexander Zverev.
And you sense the reigning champion won’t mind if the roof has to close on historic Centre Court next summer either.
Jannik Sinner seems to love tennis even more when the weather doesn’t come into play. But as Wimbledon 2026 will surely show, he is pretty fantastic whatever the conditions.
Turin is certainly to the Italian’s liking. At times he made it look easy against the big German.
Sinner served twelve aces to Zverev’s seven. But it wasn’t just robotic power that sent Jannik sailing through to the semi-finals 6-4, 6-3.
A lethally-carved diagonal drop shot left Zverev scrambling hopelessly as we were reminded that the favourite has many weapons in his armoury.
And after his 28th win on the bounce on indoor hard courts, Sinner explained why he is even more dominant than usual under a roof.
Jannik said: ”I feel like indoors suits my game very well. You don’t have the wind. You don’t have the sun.
‘You always have the same feeling on the court and it always helps you feel more comfortable.’
But the ATP Tour is mostly played outdoors – and Carlos Alcaraz has narrowly held away overall.
The Spaniard will confirm his world number one ranking until next year if he beats Sinner’s compatriot Lorenzo Musetti on Thursday evening.
That’s after Alcaraz prevailed 6-7 (2-7), 7-5, 6-3 in a thriller against American hot-shot Taylor Fritz on Tuesday.
Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz will surely do battle later in this dazzling November tournament in Turin – and very possibly in the final at Wimbledon 2026 too!
