Cameron Norrie has just scored the biggest win of his long career.

The battling Brit defeated Carlos Alcaraz at the highly prestigious Paris Masters.

Victory in the French capital meant a first ever success against a reigning number one for journeyman Norrie.

Cameron Norrie will be capable of making waves at Wimbledon 2026 next summer as well!

He had beaten the Spaniard twice before – but only in Cincinnati three years ago with anything like as much at stake.

And five previous defeats for the underdog could have made this a foregone conclusion when things started to go wrong.

Yet Norrie caused the upset by taking confidence from a first-set reverse when many might have crumbled.

Cam stormed back to take the match 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 – and later revealed his super-positive mindset.

Norrie explained: ‘I played really, really good in the first set. I thought it was close. He took his chances and I didn’t.’

The unlikely winner took heart and got ruthless. Under pressure and showing a touch of ring-rust, Alcaraz uncharacteristically crumbled.

Norrie said: ‘I wanted to keep pushing and honestly, it was such a physical match. I’m so pleased with the way I did it.

‘This is massive, so big for me. It’s the biggest win of my career – against the most confident player in the world right now.’

Alcaraz didn’t look confident once Norrie went to work. His footwork looked awry – and he had made no fewer than 54 unforced errors by the end.

Cameron Norrie took his opportunities superbly. No doubt he will try to do the same at his home Grand Slam – Wimbledon 2026.

But we can all expect the amazing Carlos Alcaraz to be back to his best by then. And what a spectacle awaits us!

No wonder Hollywood superstars and British royalty flock to the All England Club for the biggest fortnight in the British social calendar.

The drama on Centre Court never disappoints. The atmosphere at the historic home of tennis is unique.
