SINNER
Italy is on top of the tennis world these days – and bringing excitement to Wimbledon!
Jannik Sinner will return as reigning men’s singles champion for Wimbledon 2026.
He toppled Carlos Alcaraz with a terrific performance on Centre Court in the last men’s final at the All England Club.
For a few years, there were some who doubted whether Italy’s finest could master the grass. No one doubts Sinner now! He will be a major contender at Wimbledon for many years to come.
PAOLINI
Meanwhile Jasmine Paolini charmed the English crowds and reached the women’s final in 2024. She remains one of the most charismatic stars in the game. Her dazzling smile and fierce competitive passion have created huge support worldwide.
No wonder Italian fans are flocking to Wimbledon in record numbers. What a popular women’s champion she would be at Wimbledon 2026!
ITALIAN RECORD-BREAKERS
It’s the incredible strength in depth of Italian players that has also made the tennis world sit up an take notice.
Lorenzo Musetti made the Wimbledon semi-finals in 2024. And 2025 was the first time three Italian players made the last sixteen at Wimbledon. The great Sinner was joined by Lorenzo Sonego and Flavio Cobolli, who eventually lost to Novak Djokovic in the quarters.
DAVIS CUP AND BJK CUP TITLES
At the time of writing, the Italian men are reigning Davis Cup champions and the women are reigning Billie Jean King Cup champions. What an extraordinary double! The spirited Italian women were not to be outdone by their male counterparts!
Elisabetta Cocciaretto played a vital supporting role in that BJK Cup triumph – because even the patriotic Paolini couldn’t do it all on her own.
HISTORY
In the old days, it used to be Italian heartthrob Adriano Panatta carrying the hopes of his nation at Wimbledon. But for all his panache, the best he could do was reach the quarter-finals in 1979, despite having won the French Open three years earlier.
How times have changed. Matteo Berrettini reached the Wimbledon final in 2021. And now Sinner is champion!

Italians will probably come to Wimbledon 2026 with more hope in their hearts than fans from any other nation. And with good reason!
