Lucy Shuker has received a wild card for Wimbledon 2025 – and will play doubles with one of the sport’s all-time-greats.
It was Shuker who was given the honour of being GB flagbearer at the Paralympics in Paris last year.
The wheelchair tennis star is still highly competitive at the age of 45 – and has won a silver and two bronze medals at the Paralympics during her glittering career.

Lucy Shuker and Diede de Groot will form a doubles partnership especially for Wimbledon 2025.
And Diede de Groot has done almost nothing but win all through her illustrious career.
The partnership has been planned for a while. But first Lucy needed to secure that precious wild card.

Lucy has made five doubles finals at Wimbledon before – but never quite managed to take the trophy.
But De Groot is such an outstanding player that you never know quite what is going to happen at Wimbledon 2025 now.

They will feel they can go deep if everything goes their way. Before recent hip surgery, Diede had achieved world number one in both doubles and singles.
She has won the Wimbledon wheelchair singles title six times. And she has a hat-trick of Wimbledon doubles titles already – the last triumph just two years ago.
