Taylor Fritz Storms Stuttgart, Tatjana Maria Has Wimbledon Dream

Taylor Fritz has staked a claim for Wimbledon 2025 glory with a perfect start on grass.
And former Wimbledon semi-finalist Tatjana Maria is also surely a contender once more, following victory at Queen’s.
Taylor Fritz must believe he can go deeper than ever before at Wimbledon 2025. And Tatjana Maria will be dreaming of the title!
Fritz defeated Alexander Zverev 6-3, 7-6 (7-0) in the German’s own back yard to win the Boss Open.
The breaker was crushing indeed as the home crowd fell silent. Taylor never came close to being broken all match.
The American admitted afterwards: ‘It was not a great clay season. So to come here and start the grass season off perfectly, I am super happy to get the title and do it here.’
Fritz fired eleven aces and won an awesome 88 per cent of his first serve points. No wonder Zverev is sick of the sight of him.
Taylor has won the last five of their showdowns – a record stretching back to last year’s Wimbledon. Fritz reached the quarters then – and also in 2022.
Sascha is fed up of losing to his nemesis. He joked: ‘Taylor, I’m tired of you. I don’t want to see you again over the next two to three years. Please stay away from me.’
Another American reached a grass court final over in London. Amanda Anisimova was favourite to beat 37-year-old mother-of-two Tatjana Maria.
But this time the German came out on top 6-3, 6-4. The Wimbledon semi-finalist from 2022 brought huge admiration from a sporting Anisimova.
Taylor Fritz, Tatjana Maria and Amanda Anisimova will all go into Wimbledon 2025 with huge confidence.
And Amanda said to Tatjana: ‘I wouldn’t be surprised to see you in the Wimbledon final.’
Age doesn’t seem to matter. Maria is now the oldest WTA 500 champion after victory at Queen’s, where she ended a nine-match losing streak.
She became the first woman to win a tournament there for fifty-two years. Historic and personally inspiring stories like this don’t come around every day.
Tatjana had already admitted: ‘It’s the perfect example to never give up and always keep going. I’m still here and living this dream.’
