Emma Raducanu Serves Revenge with a Smile at Queen’s Club

Emma Raducanu is already loving London life on grass.

And she is enjoying the perfect warm-up for the big one at the All England Club.

Emma Raducanu and her charismatic presence will add to the irresistible atmosphere at Wimbledon 2025.

On Tuesday she played with a smile on her face down the road at Queen’s – and served up sweet revenge on Cristina Bucsa, after the Spaniard beat her in Singapore earlier this year.

There was no chance of Emma falling at the first hurdle in London. She yelped with delight as forehands and backhands found their mark with power and precision.

Indeed it was a backhand cross-court pass that ended the contest 6-1, 6-2 in just over an hour.

Emma Raducanu should be playing at her free-flowing best when it comes to Wimbledon 2025!

Bucsa had attempted a late revival – and even took a service game to love to show her potential.

But Raducanu was imperious and joins Katie Boulter, Sonay Kartal and Heather Watson as a quartet of popular Brits through to the second round.

Watson will play former Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina in what promises to be an exciting showdown.

But all eyes are on Raducanu, who didn’t yet know her opponent when she spoke to the crowd on the Andy Murray Arena after her victory.

She said: ‘I was locked in today and very pleased with my performance. I was a little bit nervous and still trying to find my groove on this surface.

‘I knew today was going to be very difficult because I actually lost to Cristina earlier this year. I was fighting hard to make sure that didn’t happen again so I could get into the second round and play more matches.’

Emma Raducanu is clearly a superstar building towards peak form in good time for Wimbledon 2025.
