Mirra Andreeva Faces Aryna Sabalenka in Indian Wells Final

Mirra Andreeva has made it to the Indian Wells final at the tender age of seventeen.
She shocked defending champion Iga Swiatek with an outstanding display of nerve – and eventually won through 7-6 (7-1), 1-6, 6-3.
Andreeva is the youngest finalist since 2001, when Belgian starlet Kim Clijsters reached the showpiece.
Meanwhile awesome Sabalenka took less than an hour to complete her revenge over Madison Keys, who took the Australian Open title against the odds.
Aryna breezed through 6-0, 6-1 and admitted: ‘I didn’t expect the match to be that fast but I’m super happy. Much needed revenge.’
She surely starts the final as heavy favourite. But Mirra is the name on everyone’s lips right now. And she seems to be taking the increased attention in her stride.
Mirra Andreeva could be on the verge of turning the tennis world on its head.
After prevailing in a one-sided breaker, Andreeva endured a tense wait while Swiatek left the court.
The Polish favourite had enjoyed a fearsome tournament up to this point. And she stormed back to take the second set with ease.
Most people expected young Mirra to crumble in the decider and console herself with her encouraging run in the desert.
Instead she turned up the power and took control once more to launch a relentless ride to glory.
Andreeva explained: ‘I tried to really hang in there. It was not easy. But I’m super happy with the win today. I can’t wait to play the final on Sunday.’
Mirra Andreeva and Iga Swiatek will be just two of the top women on show at Wimbledon 2025 during the height of the beautiful British summer.
