Valentine’s Day Reminds us of Love Games in the Tennis World

Valentine’s Day is a great time to remind ourselves how many successful romances there have been in the tennis world of late.
And most stars involved in the love games don’t seem to have been unduly distracted at all!
In fact love games off court seem to have led to love games on court – in favour of the romantics!
Valentine’s Day would be the perfect time to secure your tennis-loving partner tickets for Wimbledon 2025. Imagine their reaction later? We can make it happen today.
Then you can savour the elegance and glamour at the All England Club come summer.
And you’ll be in good company, considering how many key tennis figures seem to be happily in love right now.
There is no better example than Madison Keys and her coach and husband Bjorn Fratangelo.
They were locked in a beautiful embrace moments after the American superstar won the Australian Open.
Bjorn had helped to change Madison’s mindset so that the dream of Grand Slam glory was no longer a burden.
He had masterminded her fearlessness against Iga Swiatek and then Aryna Sabalenka. The result was pretty much perfection.
Other lovers have been thriving too. Gael Monfils recently made history by becoming the oldest winner of an ATP singles title with victory at the ASB Classic in Auckland.
He then thrilled the world with a wonderful win over Taylor Fritz at the Australian Open, before finally succumbing to injury and Ben Shelton.
And the woman inspiring Gael is of course his wife Elina Svitolina, the Ukrainian star, who also beat the fourth seed in an upset that day.
‘I think I warmed the court up for her,’ joked Monfils after they both won in the Margaret Court Arena.
He had proudly watched Elina beat Wimbledon finalist Jasmine Paolini that day. She admitted: ‘It was a crazy battle and I want to say I got inspired by my husband’s win.’
Perhaps the tennis romance people are most familiar with in England is the match-up between our own Katie Boulter and her Aussie fiance Alex de Minaur.
Just like the others, romance seems to have done them no harm at all. De Minaur has reached the quarter-finals at his last four Grand Slams.
Alex just reached the final at Rotterdam – and was only defeated by the great Carlos Alcaraz.
Since his love affair with Katie blossomed, Alex has risen to world number six – an incredible achievement.
Boulter is Britain’s number one and has triumphed at Nottingham, San Diego and Nottingham again since she fell in love with Alex de Minaur.
Katie Boulter reached the third round at Wimbledon in 2023 – and has every chance to do well at Wimbledon 2025.
‘Happy off the court, you play good tennis on court,’ claimed Alex during the Aussie Open. And it seems to be true!
Paula Badosa is still in the top ten despite her romance with Stefanos Tsitsipas. And the slide in the Greek’s form has been attributed more to his split with his father as coach.
All in all, lovers are winners in the game of tennis!
Valentine’s Day helps us to appreciate our tennis-loving partners. How about serving up the perfect gift right now with tickets for Wimbledon 2025?
In this digital age, we can make everything look just right for you in no time at all. Go ahead. Make someone’s Valentine’s Day!
