Novak Djokovic Plays Musetti for Final Spot at Wimbledon 2024

Novak Djokovic may feel the tennis gods are starting to work in his favour once more.
The 37-year-old stands to benefit from a welcome walkover as he seeks an historic 25th Grand Slam title.
Alex de Minaur was unable to contest their quarter-final on Wednesday because of a hip injury.
And that leaves Novak super-fresh for his semi-final clash with over-achieving Italian Lorenzo Musetti.
Most would predict Djokovic to win through and face either Carlos Alcaraz or Daniil Medvedev in Sunday’s final.
Novak Djokovic against Carlos Alcaraz at Wimbledon 2024 would give the Serb a delicious chance to take revenge over his Spanish conqueror from last year’s showpiece.
But we write off Musetti at our peril after he turned the tables on a shell-shocked Taylor Fritz in their quarter-final on Wednesday.
And the Italians are having an incredible Wimbledon 2024. Jasmine Paolini does battle on Thursday for a place in the women’s final. She probably starts favourite against Donna Vekic on current form.
Meanwhile former Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina faces another Grand Slam champion, Barbora Krejcikova in the other semi-final on Thursday.
Rybakina against Paolini would make for a scintillating women’s final on Saturday.
But many will say that Djokovic is the emerging story. He had almost been written off earlier in the year. Injuries and a lack of trophies made us wonder whether he would ever be in true Grand Slam contention again. Yet here he is.
Novak Djokovic can become the undisputed greatest player of all time right here on Centre Court at Wimbledon 2024 on Sunday.
A 25th Grand Slam title would take him clear of the legendary Margaret Court and finally end the argument once and for all.
Will you be there to see Novak try to rewrite the record books in the most historic tennis arena of them all? Friday and Sunday should be extraordinary moments in our sport’s glorious history.
