Carlos Alcaraz beat the all-time greats to take the Madrid title and announce his arrival at the very pinnacle of world tennis.

Sascha Zverev had no answer as the teenager thrashed him 6-3, 6-1 in just 62 minutes.

But he did pay this generous tribute to his Spanish friend: ‘I think you are the best player in the world right now.’

Few would argue. Alcaraz just beat Rafael Nadal, the greatest clay court player in history.

The very next day he defeated Novak Djokovic, probably the best player the game has ever seen.

And finally he beat reigning Madrid champion and world number three Zverev with astonishing ease.

Alcaraz called it ‘The best week of my life so far.’

But how did he have the energy to humble the game’s giants day after day?

‘I’m nineteen,’ he replied with a smile. He has the youthful energy to achieve whatever he wants.

That’s why five sets should be no problem to this extraordinary young man when it comes to the Grand Slams.

Carlos Alcaraz will be a major attraction and serious contender at Wimbledon 2022.

The same goes for another superstar nineteen-year-old, Emma Raducanu.

Wimbledon will be a celebration of history. This is Centre Court’s Centenary Year and there will be all manner of moving sights and memorable moments to mark the milestone.

But it is also a celebration of the future. The All England Club will imagine what the next 100 years might look like.

The first ten or fifteen years could have Alcaraz written all over them. US Open champion Raducanu will shine during that time too!

Carlos has joined her as a top teen. He has won 26 of his last 28 matches and has claimed four titles this year so far – Miami, Rio. Barcelona and now Madrid.

Against top ten players, Carlos is 7-2 ahead at this point – an amazing ratio for one so young and inexperienced.

Why shouldn’t his game translate to grass? Alcaraz moves and volleys so well. He could be an incredible force at Wimbledon, now and every year until around 2040.

Wimbledon 2022 will be a fascinating challenge for Carlos Alcaraz – and he will relish every moment.

Will you be there as past and future collide in all the glorious glamour of London’s greatest social and sporting occasion?

We can help you with that right away.
