February 21, 2022

Cameron Norrie has won his first ATP Tour title of 2022.

The super-Brit will also climb to a career-high twelfth in the world rankings.

It’s another reminder that Wimbledon fans will have so many British stars to cheer this year.

Cameron Norrie joins Emma Raducanu and Sir Andy Murray as the top British Wimbledon 2022 attractions!

Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and reigning champion Novak Djokovic should all be there too.

And young gun Carlos Alcaraz will join Daniil Medvedev, Sascha Zverev and Stefanos Tsitsipas as the best of the new generation.

Centenary year on Centre Court will be a magnificent meeting of past, present and future.

It’s the perfect way to celebrate a unique moment in time.

And Norrie has very much joined the party after winning a dramatic final at Delray Beach.

He beat the in-form American Reilly Opelka 7-6 (7-1), 7-6 (7-4) with neither man dropping serve.

It was Cameron Norrie who held his nerve when it really mattered in a thriller lasting one hour and 51 minutes..

And his reward was a third ATP title after tasting glory at Indian Wells and Los Cabos last year.

‘I really enjoyed my time on court in Delray this week,’ Norrie said.

And he had some encouragement for the big American, who may also be a hot prospect at Wimbledon 2022.

‘You’re moving great. You’re playing great. I’m sure you’re going to break into the top ten real soon,’ he told Opelka.

And Norrie isn’t far off himself. He rose to a career-high twelfth in the world rankings after this latest triumph.

So there is no reason why Norrie shouldn’t go deep at Wimbledon 2022.

And the same can be said for the incredible Carlos Alcaraz.

The super-talented Spaniard just became the youngest ATP 500 title winner since the series began in 2009!

Alcaraz took down Diego Schwartzman 6-4, 6-2 in Rio – and remember he is still just eighteen years old!

He had already beaten Italian giants Matteo Berrettini and Fabio Fognini on his way to his historic win.

Is Alcaraz the new Rafael Nadal? It’s looking that way.

But that’s the beauty of Wimbledon 2022. The all-time-greats and the young pretenders will all be there to duke it out.

Will you be there too?
