We share our top tips to help you prepare for your visit to the championships.
With a full day of tennis ahead out in the open, it’s important that you are fully prepared and have everything you need for a fabulous day at Wimbledon.
Below are our top tips to help you prepare.
Debenture ticket
Your Debenture tickets cover all play on court for the day as well as access to the outside courts and the exclusive debenture lounges.
Debenture lounge
Centre and No.1 Court debenture ticket holders have their own exclusive restaurant and bar facilities. The area offers a stylish and relaxing environment in which to enjoy a delicious luncheon, traditional afternoon tea or alfresco drink with friends.
Light refreshments are available in the debenture holders restaurants and bars from 10.30 am and are open for luncheon from 11.00 am.
Both Centre Court and No.1 Court offer a range of waitress and self-service luxury restaurants as well as bars with views over the outside courts from the terraces.
Access
There’s an exclusive Debenture entrance situated at Gate 4 on Church Road.
Getting to Wimbledon
Trains and London Underground
Southfields
The nearest tube stations are Southfields (District Line) and Wimbledon (District Line and Main line).
Walking from Southfields takes approximately 20 minutes. Alternatively, there is a taxi rank outside Southfields station with a large number of taxis going to and from Wimbledon.
Wimbledon
Wimbledon is the only London station with interchange between rail, Underground and Tramlink services, and can be reached directly from a number of major overground train stations. For more information, visit lovewimbledon.org.
A shuttle bus service operates just outside Wimbledon station, going to and from the Grounds of the All England Club.
Tram
Trams run every 5 minutes from East Croydon station to Wimbledon station throughout the day on Monday to Saturday, then once every 7/8 minutes on Sundays and early mornings/evenings. This service takes approximately 26 minutes. Please visit TFL for more information.
Buses
London General also operates a bus service direct from St Pancras, Euston, Baker Street, Marble Arch and Victoria to The Championships, departing every 30 minutes. Please call or visit the following for enquiries: 0208 545 6100/6110 or visit londongeneral.co.uk.
Dress code
The dress code for admittance to the Debenture Lounges is smart casual. Gentlemen are not required to wear a tie or jacket and tailored short for both ladies and gentlemen are acceptable. Dirty trainers and active sporting attire will not be allowed. Most importantly, it’s key to be comfortable.
Luggage
If you are travelling with large items they will need to be deposited at the ‘Left Luggage’ facilities which are outside the grounds. Smaller items which include umbrellas and coats may be left at the cloakroom located within the Debenture Lounge.
If you are bringing a bag to Wimbledon then it should measure no more than 40cm x 30cm x 30cm (16” x 12” x 12”);
Museum
Your Debenture tickets do allow you access to the Wimbledon museum (small fee applies)
Order of play
You can check to see who is playing and on what court, the evening before. All you need to do is simply visit the Wimbledon Club website for details.
